What Is the Spirit of Google?

Google says, write for your readers not for the robot. Does this mean Google considers contents as the king? Is this the spirit of Google? Will Google give them good page ranking? I mean, if such kinds of websites cannot be found, who cares about good contents or not?

But the key issue here is how Google will think you are really writing for readers. So, what Google says is that you got to write for readers following Google’s rules.

So, how will Google judge your websites? Unfortunately, we have no way to know. But we got to trust that Google is doing its best serving the readers and some points listed below should be followed for building good websites.

- Your websites should be full of useful information. Original and creative contents will be rewarded. Duplicated contents will be penalized. This is not a joke. Recently, I moved my website MaPaGuides back from another url. Google indexed several pages of MaPaGuides quickly. But several days later, all indexed pages were deleted until all the duplicated pages in previous url were removed.

- Your websites should be well organized. The code should be neat. In fact, the file size of most top ranked websites is small.

- The websites should be updated and well maintained. You got to add fresh contents and show Google you are taking care of the websites. You see, I didn’t add any new post during last 30 days, the number of indexed pages by Google was dropped from 11 to 8, then to current 5.

- You should show Google your websites are really useful. I mean, if your contents are good, Google thinks that you should have more natural inbound links with high quality and should have more traffic (for example, high Alexa ranking).

One month ago, I realized there were many problems with my website MaPaGuides. One problem was the html coding. When I check the html code, there were lots of font tags. It looks ugly. The reason is that Google Page Creator will add many tags if you copy-paste your text from Microsoft Word. So I got to revise all the pages to fit above guidelines. The file size decreased dramatically from 48k to 18k.

In addition, I deleted one page (science experiments for kids) and some top-searched keywords (such as creative kids, kids birthday party). I tried to lower the keywords density from 5% to 2%, as Google has warned me that there were too many keywords in MaPaGuides.

I also added two pages of keyboard puzzle (which is fun and useful way to practice imagination, free icons are provided) and another website of creativity training for adults. So I can cover more readers. All the contents are useful and creative. Will Google reward my effort?
